Top Color Trends for 2025: Must-Have Shades to Elevate Your Wardrobe
Discover the Hottest Color Palettes for the Year Ahead and How to Incorporate Them into Your Timeless, Elegant Wardrobe
Hello, everyone, and welcome back to my newsletter! Today, we are taking a closer look at one of our favorite topics: color trends for 2025.
If you’ve seen my annual reports, you know that my favorite way to wrap things up is always with color. It’s something anyone can participate in, and I love how it provides insight into what we should bring to the forefront of our wardrobes.
Today, we’ll be analyzing predictions from Vogue, Who What Wear, Refinery29, and an exciting new source—Pinterest Trends. Of course, we’ll also look at the Pantone Color of the Year.
As you know, I love to cross-reference and make lists. Different sources have varying opinions, but some colors are undeniably dominant. You don’t have to embrace every single one—pick and choose what resonates with you. Some of you may think I mention every possible color, but that’s simply not the case. There are a few that truly stand out and offer extra inspiration. It’s fascinating to see designers working within similar palettes.
If you’re new here, hi, my name is Enisa! I love discussing style, lifestyle, home decor, and travelling whenever I can.
For today’s article, let's spark some inspiration for our spring and summer wardrobes. I’ve never been more ready for a season in my life! I don’t know about you, but let’s dive right in.
Butter Yellow
Let’s ease into the list with something soft and dreamy: Butter Yellow. This creamy pastel is like sunshine in a bottle—warm, inviting, and effortlessly chic. It looks amazing on everyone!
We saw this color dominate the runways, and it’s already being hailed as the new neutral of spring. That’s right—yellow as a neutral! It all depends on the shade.
Whether you incorporate it into your clothing or as an accent in your home decor, it instantly adds freshness, happiness, and a luminous touch.
Picture a buttery yellow sweater paired with white jeans or even a soft yellow ceramic piece brightening up your home. On my recent trip, I styled it with a dark charcoal blazer and maroon pieces, which brought it to life.
According to Pinterest, Butter Yellow is described as "playful yet sophisticated"—the perfect way to bring warmth into your look.

Gold isn’t just limited to jewelry anymore—it’s appearing in shimmering fabrics, footwear, and accessories. Brands like Saint Laurent and Bottega Veneta have fully embraced gold and silver in bold ways, proving that metallics can be just as wearable in spring and summer as they are in fall and winter.
If gold isn’t your thing, silver is also making a major comeback. Some fashion journalists even argue that silver is set to be bigger than ever, surpassing the popularity it has had in previous years.
And if you can’t choose between gold or silver, you don’t have to! Mixed metals are officially trending, and people are talking about them more than ever. The old rules of “sticking to one metal” no longer apply. Wearing a combination of gold and silver in jewelry, watches, and accessories adds depth and interest to any outfit.
So whether you’re into gold, silver, or both, just make sure you’re rocking some metallics this year!
Tip: Try mixing yellow and silver; it’s all I’m thinking about later.
It’s time to choose your player! Metallics add instant luxury to any outfit and serve as a focal point, making your look more elevated and interesting. This year is all about actually pulling your jewelry out and wearing it instead of saving it for special occasions.

Pale Pink
Next up is a color that absolutely screams spring—soft pink. This shade has been stealing the show across multiple trend reports, and it was even highlighted in the 2025 Trends video. That tells you just how much we’re seeing it everywhere!
If you haven’t heard of this trend yet, think ballet slipper, cotton candy, and romantic tea-rose garden tones. This is no longer the bold Barbiecore pink we saw dominating fashion in recent years. Instead, it’s a more subdued, versatile evolution of that trend. We’re all embracing our ballet Pilates princess vibe with this one!
Designers like Simone Rocha have showcased dreamy layers, delicate fabrics, and tulle roses on the runway, fully embracing this ultra-feminine aesthetic. I’m envisioning soft pink cardigans, flowy dresses, and even accessories like scarves tied to handbags.
If your wardrobe leans toward neutral, consider adding a subtle touch of pink this spring and summer. If you’ve never imagined yourself in pink before, accessories are a great way to ease into it. A soft pink handbag, scarf, or even a pair of shoes can bring a fresh, romantic touch without overwhelming your usual style.

Both Butter Yellow and Soft Pink are incredibly approachable for spring, making them easy to incorporate into any wardrobe!
Cherry Red
This next color has been trending year after year, and I’m thrilled to see it continuing in 2025—Cherry Red. If you love a bold statement, this vibrant shade is your new best friend.
Lately, I’ve been spotting so many cute cherry-red flats and accessories, and they instantly grab my attention. This shade has been consistently present across multiple seasons, proving that it can function as a wardrobe staple rather than just a passing trend. While not a traditional neutral, it’s a color that transitions beautifully across different times of the year, helping lower that cost per wear.
Cherry Red exudes confidence and has been seen in everything from shoes and bags to striking monochrome outfits. Designers like Bottega Veneta and Miu Miu have fully embraced this fiery hue, incorporating it into statement dresses, outerwear, and accessories.
And it’s not just about drama—this color is timeless. Picture a structured red coat or bold boots paired with a neutral winter outfit, then transition into summer with a romantic red midi dress in lightweight linen for an elegant wedding look. It’s the ultimate power color!
If you’re not ready to commit to a bold red wardrobe piece, start small. A cherry-red manicure, lipstick, or even a soft wash of red blush can still bring that striking pop of color into your look in a subtle yet impactful way.

Icy Blue and Periwinkle
Now that we’ve covered warm hues, let’s shift to cooler tones. These are some of my absolute favorites, so seeing them trending again is exciting—it means we’ll be seeing more of them in stores!
Icy Blue and Periwinkle have been highlighted across multiple trend reports, offering a fresh, ethereal touch for the season. While we often associate pastels like Butter Yellow with spring, Icy Blue stands out as a crisp, elegant alternative. This shade dominated the runways, bringing a delicate yet sophisticated feel to collections.

Conversely, Periwinkle is slightly different—it’s a playful, calming blue with subtle violet undertones. It’s one of my favorite colors because it strikes the perfect balance between soft and statement-making.
Both shades pair beautifully with neutrals and metallics, making them easy to incorporate into any wardrobe. Imagine an icy blue slip dress for a breezy summer evening, a tailored periwinkle blazer for work, or even pastel blue accessories like handbags and heels. Whether you prefer a dreamy, romantic aesthetic or a sleek, modern look, these colors add a unique, stylish edge to any outfit.
Shades of Green
For years, working at a weather station, I could never wear green because of the green screen. Now, seeing shades of green trending and being able to embrace them feels amazing! Green has been a hot topic for several years, but each season brings a fresh take on different shades.
This year, we’re seeing a focus on seafoam green and what some are calling frog green—both within the same color family but with distinct vibes. Seafoam green offers a soft yet muted option. It’s relaxed, sophisticated, and perfect for a subtle color injection. Frog green, on the other hand, is bold, fresh, and makes a statement.

This is one of those color trends where you get to choose what feels most comfortable for you. Designers like Victoria Beckham and Dries Van Noten have embraced these shades in tailored dresses, separates, and accessories.
In color theory, green is a grounding shade that pairs beautifully with neutrals, earthy tones, and even rich hues like burgundy. Whether you prefer a soft, muted green blazer or a bold, vibrant green handbag, there are endless ways to experiment with this color.
Tangerine
Now, let’s talk about tangerine—a color I definitely need to incorporate more into my wardrobe. Tangerine looks incredible on so many people, especially when paired with a sun-kissed tan.
Who’s ready for a pop of zesty, energetic color? Tangerine is playful, bright, and impossible to ignore. This isn’t a deep burnt orange—this is a fresh, juicy orange that commands attention.

It was everywhere on the runways, from dramatic fabrics at Prada to playful interpretations for everyday wear. If you want to bring this shade into your wardrobe, think flowy skirts, bold sweaters, or even statement accessories.
Not ready for a tangerine outfit? Try incorporating it into your makeup! Orange-toned blush is such a fun addition to your beauty routine. If you’ve never tried a tangerine blush before, go for it—it’s such a fun way to refresh your look for spring and summer!
Tangerine also pairs beautifully with neutrals. If you have a neutral wardrobe and want to introduce some color, try adding tangerine through accessories like scarves, handbags, or even small details like a printed twilly on your purse handle.
These trending colors offer so many ways to refresh your wardrobe and experiment with new hues in a way that feels authentic to your style. Whether you’re drawn to soft pinks, bold reds, dreamy blues, zesty oranges, or grounding greens, there’s a shade for everyone this season.
Which of these colors are you most excited to try? Let me know in the comments!
Mocha Mousse: The Color of the Year
It wouldn’t make sense to talk about trending colors without mentioning the official Color of the Year: Mocha Mousse.
This shade is a rich, warm brown that feels grounded, luxurious, and incredibly easy to style. It evokes a sense of coziness and sophistication, making it perfect for both fashion and home decor.
Brown has been a major trend for fall and winter over the past two years, and it’s continuing its reign into spring and summer. It’s making an impact in:
Suedes and leathers (jackets, bags, boots)
Soft, cozy knits
Tailored pieces and structured coats
Mocha Mousse is ideal for anyone who loves earthy tones and wants a color that feels timeless yet modern. This shade can act as a grounding element in an outfit, allowing you to layer on textures, patterns, and even brighter colors while keeping the overall look elegant and cohesive.

And there you have it, my loves! Thank you for staying with me. These were the top color trends for 2025. I’m so excited to see more color on the scene, but mixed in with those timeless shades.
It allows us to evoke an elegant, timeless feel and create a wardrobe that’s going to last a long time, which is not only great for the planet but also great for us.
Investing in those core pieces but having a little fun. Periwinkle, burgundy, chocolate browns, and those classic spring hues you love to see as soon as the winter jacket goes away. Trust me, I’ve never been so excited!
What are you going to be doing this year? Are you going to be adding cherry red, or are you going to go more soft and soothing with butter yellow, or are you going to get that punch with tangerine in your wardrobe? I would love to hear.
If there are any other trends you’d like to see, I would love to know in the comments down below. Someone was mentioning handbags and jewellery, so maybe we’ll tap into the world of accessories as well. I appreciate you so much, and thanks for sticking with me. It’s an exciting season for all of us to see the sun come up here in the northern hemisphere and melt that snow. I’m waffling on now because I don’t want to let you go, but I love you, and we’ll see you in the next one. Bye, guys!
I used to hate yellow but buttery yellow was a nice introduction to the color!
I really wasn’t sure when I first heard that butter yellow would be a trending color, but now I simply can’t stay away from it! And cherry red!
